Dean Miller, a marine biologist specialising in tropical waters and coral reefs, sets sail for the sub-Antarctic and life on a tiny speck of an island. He's there to study the return of the almost extinct Antarctic fur seal to Macquarie Island. He carries out his work over twelve months in total isolation from the outside world.
